Fished for a half a day. Started at noon and we were catching 3 to 4 an hour nice 3 pound fish on frogs and flukes. Then came the witching hour and at 3:30pm. We had to put on our jacket as that north wind got chilly. The bite stopped. We decided after an hour of no bites to try some other ponds. Could not buy a bite.
The lake is as full as I've ever seen. A mild chocolate color with one foot visibility. The gate pond the dock is again under water. The wind was steady from the north. On Jer Mar lake there was enough water going over spillway that boat would float to the next ranch. A couple of the Bass still hadn't spawned. The big tree in the middle of the lake you could only see 6 inches to a foot. Stay on the road and walk over to the beaver pond. The small Jon boat and v hull are both at lower Jer Mar. The canoe at gate pond is under water. I put the paddle and life jackets on the bank. I put a new anchor line on that 15 pound anchor.
All in all a nice day. Never been a victim to a shutdown of the bite. My luck must have run out.

I've fished there a couple of times now and I love this lake. I've thrown crank baits and crushed it. On Friday, I caught a few 2 or 3 pounders on a chatter bait and then decided to throw a swim jig around 4 PM. I ended up catching a 5-6 lb fish on the road side by the second pvc pipe. I had to go because I had to get home for a dinner date, but I believe I will be throwing a jig in the future. Love the grass, boats are awesome and the owner was nice.
