Fry
Saturday March 24th turned out to be an awesome members fishing event and fish fry. Steve, Keri & Cole did a great job hosting the event at one of the premium club locations. Thank you for being so informative, kind and considerate to the members. Lago E. is just a magical location where the property owners have done an incredible job with the lake and its amenities. It was awesome meeting other members and hearing their stories on how they were attracted to PWF.
Wayne and I ended the 1/2 day of fishing with a total 36 bass with 4 of the 36 not quite making the 5 pound mark. (see photo below of what Lago E consistently produces). We culled 6 bass only out of the 36. Chatter baits with Z Craw Trailers produced the most catches with some success on senkos & medium - shallow diving crank baits. Looked to be about 20 to 25 members fishing the lake and we never did hear the total numbers caught and culled. Maybe Cole or Steve could shed some light on that. I think I heard someone say about 35 culled in all but could be mistaken. Enjoyed fishing my new 16 foot Tracker Grizzly boat….........very comfortable…...........think I picked a winner for a club boat easy to trailer and launch short of a choosing a Kayak. Wayne still loves his Hobie Pro Angler but I am just not into pushing those mirage pedals. That trolling motor handle takes a lot less energy and fishing is about relaxing and not so much about exercise for me. A real pleasure to meet everyone and look forward to doing it again real soon. March and April should produce some super good post across the club at the various lake locations. Look forward to reading every one of them. One thing we can all agree on - no matter which lake your fishing - your fishing! Keri, Steve & Cole thanks again!

Phillip,
Thanks for the report and it was great to spend so much time with you and your brother. Yes, Lago Escondido is everything we want in a PWF property. We removed 32 fish, which is very few for a lake that size. With the owner's permission we have moved the harvest size from 14" to 16". So we are asking members and member guests to remove all bass 16" and smaller (2.2 lbs). There are lots of 15" and 16" fish in the lake that need to be removed to open up the food chain for larger bass.. Our goal is to push some of these 2-4 lb bass to 5 and 6 lb bass. As always there are some toads in the lake and as we found out at the fish fry a 13.4 was caught.
