Slot Fish
Bank fished Old Oaks on Thursday from about 9 AM until 1 PM. Water was pretty stained with visibility limited to maybe 4-6 inches. I did not use the Pelican but it was resting inverted and looked ready to go. The day began very bright, then turned very windy. There was no visible vegetation in the lake, but some willow stickups.
I managed 7 bass ranging from 12-15 inches. And I caught them all in the small rock lined pool that sits on the left of the peninsula that points out toward the island. All were caught on a wacky worm and they hit it hard and tried to run. I caught 5 when I first arrived, then walked all around the lake fishing Chatterbaits, square lip diving lures and Rattle Traps. Nothing was interested. As I made a full loop, I pulled 2 more out along the peninsula before I left. Pretty country and the bluebonnets were starting to show.
