Fished Wednesday afternoon with another member. We were blessed with pleasant temperature and a light southerly breeze which made positioning your kayaks a dream. Started in the East Lake and fished from noon till 3 pm. They were slow.We caught 10 bass and 4 crappie so we packed up and went to the West Lake.
Started fishing again at 4 pm and caught 51 bass and 5 crappie. All the crappie were very large and I expect will be very tasty. A hand full of the bass were 3 lbs, a third were between 2 1/2 lbs and 3 lbs and a third around 11". The rest were between 11" and 2 1/2 lbs.
The larger bass were around the dam. About 30 % were along the shore line and the rest were over 5 yards out. The hit chatter baits, lizards, yum dingers ,in line spinner and wacky worms. Colors we used were watermelon red,wat/green and marti gras. All generally green. A few hit an olive woolly.
