Fingerling
We launched the boat right when there was enough daylight to make out the horizon. It was 29 degrees. Started fishing immediately and it didn't take long to catch a couple nice fish on an underspin with a "bullfrog" colored Little Dipper trailer and a few on a shakeyhead then the wind picked up blowing relentlessly until we took a 30 minute break to warm up and gather our thoughts. Only a meteorologist can be wrong 75% of the time and keep a job. It was supposed to warm up to 54 and the wind was supposed to be 10-12 out of the SSE. The only thing they got right was the SSE part. The wind blew HARD all day and didn't slack off until 5:30. The temp warmed to a balmy 39. Water temp was 45-46 with clarity to around 4-5 ft which is very clear considering it was dang near white capping and overcast. I ran out of the bullfrog colored trailers and picked up a Texas Rig (my "go-to") caught fish pretty much everywhere but scattered. When the wind died late that afternoon the bite was on. Ended up with 21 harvest fish and 46 total. Biggest fish weighed was 3.64. Overall a good day considering the conditions. I will be back to this property in about a month. Very "fishy". Brush piles, wood, creek channels, and points EVERYWHERE.
