Friday afternoon was the second slowest day fishing that I have ever had on a PWF property.  Nevertheless, I have nothing but great things to say about the club and the properties.  Sometimes the bass just don't cooperate.  On a breezy, overcast afternoon, I completely circled the lake on foot without a bite.  After trying a variety of lures, I finally caught a couple on dropshot from the deeper end of the pier.  When they quit biting, I tried other areas again without any success.  Back to the pier. Caught a couple more on dropshot before they quit.  Okay, if they are in deeper water I'll try the deep hole near the dam.  Nothing.  Back to the pier to catch a few more, SLOWLY.  I eventually recorded eight bites and landed seven between 13 and 18", all on dropshot.

A note for those fishing in the near future:  A well fracking crew is using the lake as a water source using a large trailer-mounted pumping unit and ~12" flexible pipe.  There was no discernable impact on the lake level and the submerged vegetation looks surprisingly healthy given the recent hard freezes.  The unit is set up at the SE corner of the dam with pipe heading eastward uphill along the road and must be crossed to drive to the pier area.  If fully inflated under pressure, the pipe may be difficult or impossible to cross for a lower-clearance car or small-tire trailer.  ( It was deflated while I was there as the crew were temporarily moving the pump and I was able to cross in my SUV.) The crew said that the metal crossing "bridge" requires a high-clearance vehicle.  Certainly not a reason not to go, just be aware.
