Grandpa said when the winds out of the west the fish bite the best. That proved true yesterday and perfect for Malouf since it is somewhat protected from the west. I fished from noon till dark and caught fish all day long. Started off in the far NE cove by the duck blind throwing a Strike King 1 oz. Shad color Pro Model crankbait and caught seven in the first fifteen minutes on the water. The west wind was blowing right onto the east side. I went down the east bank and by 3 pm had over 25 fish. About half of them were undersized with the largest about 3 lbs. Looking for bigger fish I went out under the power lines in the deeper water and tied on a Texas rigged red shad Culprit worm. On my first cast I caught a solid 6 lb. fish which is the largest I have ever caught at Malouf. Stuck with the red shad worm working deeper water and it paid off. I caught six more from 3-5 lbs in that one spot. Just before dark I switched to a pumpkin/red senko and that worked too, Best spot for the Senko was just around the boat ramp. Another great Private Water fishing day.

Paul,
Wow Paul, very impressed with you getting out there in the deep water and sticking some big fish. I have been to that property several times, but have not had the opportunity to actually wet a line. I may have to make a trip out there now… Think I can get co-ordiniates to that honey hole? Just kidding. Thank you for the report, glad that you enjoyed yourself. PWF is very blessed to have been allowed to use that property by the owner.
Thank you,
Cole PWF
