My buddy Bryan and I fished pm on 8/24, on the water around 1:30. Started with a double 10 minutes in and was a good sign. By 2:30 or so had 8-10 from 1.5lb to 3.6lb middle of lake, deep end towards dam on Bill Dance Bomber Fat A (5ft) blue chartreuse crank (me) and orange/silver rooster tail, 3/8 or 1/2oz. I think (Bryan). Then had a really crazy experience…reeling back my crank, and WHAM…big hit, set hook, and knew it was big…immediately THEY swirled just at top of the water (notice THEY?). Yep, 2 same size and large looking bass attacked at the same time. One quickly shook off, other instantly dove down, pulled some drag and fight was on. Bryan did great job lipping, especially with only one treble hook in and other flailing around. On the scales and 7.2lb! We both swear the other was the same size…they looked like twins! WOW…could've been better…but not complaining one bit, just glad someone else was there to be my witness. They were following small balls of bait around and we kept on them till storm blew threw, little rain, lots of wind, but no lighting, so we moved to stumps by small arm and topwater bite was on. 7 or 8 with top toad for me and large prop bait for Bryan. After storm passed, went dead calm, got a few more, then just as we were banking the 2 man provided boat, Bryan took one last cast with the prop and had another 2+lber to make number 23. Really enjoyed the day obviously and Bryan will likely be joining the club soon. Thanks again Cole, Steve and everyone at PWF…and the land owners at Post Oak!
