Yep that's right….............This lake produced our (my brother Wayne and I) first 100 fish experience since joining PWF. I fished the bass buddy boat they have on site with my trolling motor/battery and my brother fished his bad to the bone Hobie 17 mirage drive kayak. He pushed those pedals all day. I pushed that trolling motor all day :) Our previous best was 71 at Black Jack Ranch in Giddings. Battling the heat was no fun, but yanking the lips on 100 bass will help you overlook the blistering temps that we had to endure. Nice lake for sure with several 4 to 5 pound fish counted in the 100 fish total. 10 minutes to eat a sandwich and back to setting the hook. What worked: Zoom Z Craw, Chatter Baits, Candy Corn Stikos, Zoom Mag Lizards…..................They wanted the soft plastics real slow and the chatter baits real fast. Occasional shad balls were moving around and kept us following the feeding bass that were active. Where can you catch 100 bass in a day in this heat? Bryan Post Oak (Gig Em Aggies) Lake Baby! We will definitely do this one again. Next stop Castroville, Texas. These numbers will be hard to beat but we have something to shoot for. I would like to hear of someone breaking a 100 at Post Oak real soon. Get on this lake and you too can join the PWF 100 bass club. There you go, PWF needs a 100 bass club. The fish are there, you just have to be crazy nuts and persistent. Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate! If you are looking for numbers this is the lake. Oh, by the way I had a 7 to 8 pound bucket mouth spit the hook half way to the boat. Boating that fish would have been nice icing on the cake. Nothing better than making memories on a bass lake…............take a kid, friend or relative fishing! They will love you for it.
