Fingerling
Matt and I fished Monday morning, July 3 at JerMar. A weird front came through and kept the temps down until about 10:30 am, but the wind gusted 15-20 mph (like it does every time I go here, it seems). We boated about 25 to 4 lbs. The lake was trickling over the spillway, water looked great, and the place is fertile. All the fish were very healthy and great fighters. Frog action early was muted, but had some great blow ups on a popper. Only about 1/3 hooked up, which tells me it was more aggression than feeding. Most were caught with TX-rigged worms on the outside of the weed line, or around the brush piles, with a few token fish on a crankbait.
Without the wind, I think we would have done much better, since we could have worked the edges more thoroughly. But still a darn good day for July 3!
