Fished Escondido July 3rd from 6:30 - 11:30. The top water bite was good, but I could only land one on a buzz bait. Had multiple strikes on a ribbit frog and missed  some with a paddle tail. No action  in the lily pads. Tried the usually solid rattle trap without success. Decided to try banging a crank off shallow timber and caught about 10 with several almost 4 lbs. Ended with 13 and only one was culled. 

The lily pads are getting large, but the area is still fishable.
