Slot Fish
Took my soccer playing daughter to Timber Lake on Memorial Day. We fished from 6:30 to 8:00 with a short break for lunch and a short break to get out of the heat around 4:00. Water temps were 79 in the morning, and i think i saw 88 in the late afternoon. Weather was cloudy and very comfortable in the morning, but cleared and got hot in the afternoon with very little wind. The lake is still about a foot low, and the visibility is 2-3 feet.
We caught fish, or rather hooked fish, all day. I say hooked them, because we lost just about as many as we landed. Those bass are so strong, and so good at getting your line wrapped around a stump or 2 or 3. We actually landed 35, with only 6 harvested. The main lures that we used were weightless flukes and t-rigged zoom ol' monster worms in the california 420 color (similar to green pumpkin). We caught a few early on yellow magics and hollow body frogs, but nothing on them in the last hour of the day.
Really enjoyed the day fishing with my kid. We both had damaged thumbs at the end of the day; perfect!!
