I took my father in law out on Sunday. We arrived around 7:15am and boarded the pontoon boat. Winds started out of the south and there was very good cloud cover as we fished the west side towards the dam. We tried using top water buzz baits to no avail. We continued around the perimeter and switched over to Texas rigged 5-6 inch worms. We had difficulty not only with the wind but the weeds below the surface made it difficult to set hooks as we lost a few strikes to the fish wrapping around the long stringy vegetation. As we made our way to the North end of the lake the wind shifted 180% and began blowing harder with a strong mist now pouring onto us for the remainder of the day. We fished till about 2pm. Caught 8 dinks that we harvested and 1 - 17 incher that we sent back. We had a lot of fun exploring the pond and a great day to be outside in the elements!
