Fished Blackjack 5/24/17 from the bank, 12:30pm to 7:30pm
Full sun, warm, very windy most of the day, blowing down the length of the lake into the dam. Fished most of the day throwing into the wind along the full length of the dam. Water clear, not mossy yet, almost no visible vegetation in the water. Temp mid 80’s. The usual zoom 6” purple worm on 5.0 hook 1/4 oz weight. Almost all the fish were caught along the dam with the wind directly in my face and the waves at my feet. Wind let up about 6 pm, calm after that.
Lots of hits today, all day, many of the worms pulled completely off the hook. I have a digital scale but I don’t carry it. I am probably under-estimating the weight of these fish a little. I use the "weighs about" method. These fish are healthy and fight hard.
7 each 2 lbs
1 each 4 lbs
1 each 3 lbs
2 each 1 lb or so
2 small ones harvested
1 each, 7 or 8 lbs cleared the surface, threw the hook and worm at me on the first jump, this was my last fish of the day, take only memories. Roy Cotton

Roy. Good to hear Blackjack is still active. I have not been back since early spring. Need to fish it again.
