Fingerling
My son and I fished Six O the morning of 5/20 with overcast skies, cool breezy 66 degree 10+ mph wind. Top water fishing proved to be very tough. Not a single fish landed on a pop'r or frog. We moved over to T-rigged plastics and did not have any luck. After about 3 hours of solid fishing, my son switched over to a senko and hooked up with a fish on the first cast. He caught a few more here and there and I managed one on a crank bait. At around 11:15a, the fish got hungry because the bite picked up significantly. All in all we caught roughly 12 -14 fish with only 3 of those being under 14" and making their way in the cooler. The biggest was right around 4 lbs and we caught a couple more in the 3 lb range.
What worked: Senko, crank bait, buzz bait,
What didn't: Battle bug, fluke, chatter bait, pop'r
What part of the lake produced: West side, grass line and timber
What part did not: Spill way, east side, dam, directly across from dock
Slow start to the day but once they picked up, we caught some quality fish. The fish at Six O have are significantly improving.
