Noley Bice
Fry
My fishing partner, member Dale Willliams, and I tried out Angel Lake at Abbott on April 28. As earlier reported the water was clear, moss and grass around the edges, and the lake fairly small but easy to fish with the two arms and the bigger body of water. We started at about 8:15 in a pretty annoying wind (we are fishing in Hobie pedal kayaks) and fished all over the lake. The fish had lockjaw, and my partner only caught 3, barely over the minimum limit, which was much better than my zip (0). We gave it up at about 10:30 and left. We tried all kinds of lures, with a frog catching 2, and a spinner bait catching the only other one. Worms, creatures, funny worms, yum dingers, craws, and plastic jerks did not work. Neither did chuggers, whopper ploppers, and the like. The blacks just didn't like us on that day. AND, we were in front of a front and not behind one. Sounds like we didn't fish very well.
