I fished Triple J last Tuesday afternoon in a consistent 20 mph wind with even stronger gusts. I made the mistake of launching the boat with my 55 lb. thrust trolling motor and a couple anchors thinking I could battle the wind, only to return to the bank in a matter of minutes. I then fished the dam and the west side of the lake with crankbait, senko, and swimbait to no avail, but when I switched to a spinnerbait I quickly caught my only one (2 lbs) from that whole area. I walked back across the dam and fished the east side with the spinnerbait (running it just above the grass) and caught 11 more - 2 just over 4 lbs, 5 between 1.5 and 3.5 lbs, and culled 4 under 14 inches. Turned out to be a fun day but I look forward to fishing in a light breeze sometime soon…
