Member Steve Carpenter joined me to fish BlackJack Ranch on the afternoon of March 27th via Partner Finder.  It was nice to meet another member who fishes some of the same lakes that I do.  Previously, the only time that I had met any members other than my normal fishing buddies was at the Cody Ranch (OK) group trip a few weeks ago (great trip even though the big ones were playing hard to get).  Together, Steve and I caught about 25 bass, mostly 2-3 #s with one over 5 #s between 12:30 and 5PM.  Steve fished from his boat and I fished from shore but neither of us was able to establish a strong pattern.  It seemed that a fast retrieve was somewhat better and most fish were caught from the shallows. The brush piles and pier areas weren't very productive.  Spinnerbaits, square-bills, lipless cranks, and wacky worms all caught some fish.  There still isn't much submerged vegetation compared to last year.
