Keeper
I was hoping for better weather for my 70th birthday. But still being on this side of grass I enjoy every outing. The weather was rainy and very windy. After opening the gate I noticed the pond by the gate was twice its normal size, interesting to say the least. The dock is under a foot of water. We drove to the dock at lower JerMar and launched the boat. Hard time controlling in the wind. We picked up a nice 3 pounder on a white chatter bait fat with roe. Then we connected on the best fish of the day a fat female 5.2 pounds on a watermelon shad fished deep towards the submerged tree trunk. Now the white caps started rolling in and we abandoned our efforts on Lower Jer Mar. The water is right up to the road. So on the way to Beaver pond we stopped but didn't throw to Lower JerMar but into the flooded woods on the other side. Using a Ribbit frog we managed to take two nice bass near the culvert pipe. We moved over to beaver pond and from the dock we caught five all around 2 to 3 pounds. We caught them on watermelon seed fluke (zoom). Started raining harder so we broke for lunch in the truck. After lunch we moved to the gate pond (bream pond). Had a little time figuring out what they were looking to eat for their lunch. Finally using a red shad Bass Pro senko 5" became the ticket. Again all fish picked up from casting to middle of the pond. We caught 5 all around 2 to 4 pounds. Now the rain was really punishing us plus it was 51 degrees. So we decided to call it a day. How does someone from the great white north freeze at 51 degrees, I guess living here for 30 years has thinned my blood.

Happy Birthday Robert! That's what I like about JerMar, plenty of options when the weather changes.
