The lake was muddier than I have ever seen it. Really windy with gusts up to 20mph which kept me on land.
At blackjack i always start with a senko just to see if they are biting. Nothing doing.
Given the dirty water moved to chartreuse mid diving crank bait. There was so much "gunk" all over the bottom of the pond that the crank was a no go less than 20 ft from the shore.
Changed over to white/chartreuse spinner and got a bit more action.
Ended the day pitching a senko with chartreuse tail over the cover closest to the pier. Caught the best of the day at 4lbs. Total of 7 over 5 hours.
I'm a student of this bass fishing thing so any recommendations are very very welcome.

Andrew, given the conditions under which you were fishing, I think you did rather well. When encountering muddy water, I will almost always try something colored bright orange or red - often a Rattletrap, if the fish want a fast-moving reaction bait, or a thumping single-spin or chatterbait if they want something a little slower.
