I bank fished on Friday, Feb. 24 from about 9 AM until 4 PM. I had also read the reports on the fish kill and was curious as to the current condition of the property. The lake was full to overflowing. The water was stained due to a recent rain. Visibility was about 1 foot. The sky was clear and bright. I fished the north side and caught 12 small fish walking from the peninsula down to the dam. Best bait was a Texas rigged silver worm. Around 1 PM I drove around to the south shore and just as I began fishing the wind shifted out of the North which muddied up the shore line. Not good for a bank fisherman. I was about to leave but thought I would try a few casts along the shoreline toward the dam. I must have laid the worm right on a nesting bed as a nice female full of eggs took the worm. It looked like about 3.5 to 4 lbs so I guess there are still some bigger ones there. With my renewed luck, I walked the bank up the creek out of the wind and caught 4 more small ones.
