Fingerling
A friend and I fished this beautiful property a half day Friday afternoon. Got there about 12:45 and got all our stuff loaded into the boat (it was a whole lot of junk) and started fishing. For some reason we wanted to start in the back and work toward the truck. Little did we know how bad of an idea that was. About 10 min into our trek the trolling motor quit. We looked at the connections, fuses, and swapped batteries all to no avail. Paddled back to the ramp, unloaded the boat, and saw the state trooper that lives on the property. He said he would call rocky and for us to head over to the other lake and fish. Bingo! Back in business. Finally about 2:30 we were back fishing. Caught a couple on a chatterbait and a few on a Texas rigged creature bait fishing in, on, and around the brushpiles. About an hour later Rocky rides up and invites us back to the other lake and apologizes for any inconvenience. No problems I'm used to it. My stuff breaks all the time. Ha! So back to the lake we started on but this time we started right along the dam. 5 fish up to 6 lbs. NICE! We fish around mostly beating the banks and brush piles. We pick up several quality fish and as the sun goes down we head back to the truck. I can't stand it so we make one more pass along the dam. 5 more fish boated all from 3 1/2 to 6 lbs again and lost a giant at the boat that simply spit the hook out. I'm pretty sure she flipped me the fin as she disappeared. Weather was very nice 75 to 80, sunny, with just a hint of a breeze. Caught 22 fish total up to 6.2 lbs and harvested 3. Texas rigged battle bug in green pumpkin with pepper flake dipped the claws in Spike it was the bait of choice. Fished it with a 1/8th oz tungsten and SLOW.
