Fellow member John Shepard and I fished Rock Chimney, just north of Fayetteville yesterday afternoon. We fished from our kayaks, as the lake was full which would have limited our ability to fishing from the bank. Experienced a light breeze with semi clear skies through most of the afternoon, becoming calm near dusk.

John caught 15 bass and I managed to land 5. His ranged in size from 17” to 11” and I mine ranged from 18” to 6”. The most effective lures were squarebills and lipless crankbaits…no action on worms. Most of the action occurred west of the old dock/launching area and back into the feeder creeks. No action was had at the dam.

At the end of the day the owner (Mr. Stanley) drove down to the launching area to get a verbal fishing report and encouraged us to “come on back”.

Robert. Good to hear others are fishing from kayaks. I have a Predator XL with the Minn Kota trolling motor.

Bill,

I believe that John talked to you before electing to purchase his Predator (same set up). I did a shakedown of my new Perception Pilot 12 yesterday! It is so awesome to have a kayak with a pedal drive! It flies on the water compared with to my Chupacrabra!

Based on your very recent posts it appears as if you had an awesome three day trip! Hopefully we can get together sometime later this year and fish one of the tanks between Htown and San Antonio!
