Fished Post Oak on February 6th from 8 until around 2.

Caught a total of 24  with the majority on either a rattletrap in sexy shad or a Klone craw (green with red flecks) on a jig head.

Also had some luck with a Zara spook and a chatter bait.

The trap was mainly used in the main lake, especially the half away from the dam.

For the jig I found on my fish finder several good groups on the bottom at about 20' parallel to the dam about 20 yards from it.

All bites were aggressive and I fished the trap very erratically.

The biggest was about 21" and is the 3rd place fish in the contest. I beat the one I caught yesterday at Giddings which had been in 3rd place. Most likely my 3rd place fish will be beaten with so much time left in the contest.

Conditions

Water temp 55-59

Air temp 65-80

Cloudy most of the time

Wind was variable and gusty in the later hours.

Way to go, Bill! Hoping to beat some of those leaders on Saturday at Cody Twins.

Tom.  I would wish you good luck, but that might knock me out of 3rd place. Good luck anyway and let the best fisherman win.
