Saturday when my buddy and I arrived at Timber Lake it was 41 degrees, cloudy and winds about 5-10 mph. After we got our winter clothes on and hit the water. it didn't take long for things to start heating up. We fished from 8:30 am til 4:30 and boated 34 bass most in the 2-3 lb range with one over 4 lbs and 3 cull fish. We started catching them on a watermelon fighting frog and a 3/8 oz green and brown Enticer jig with a black chunk trailer. About 12:30 they took a break for about an hour and a half. During this time we threw everything we had, including the empty tackle box. After they finished their break, we started catching them again on the fighting frog and a watermelon red sweet beaver. About 75 % of our fish came from the standing Timber at the opposite end from the dam. Not a bad day for two country boys from South Arkansas especially given the weather conditions.
On a side note judging from the torn up grounds it looks like saying there is a slight hog problem might be a big understatement. Also there are 2 new looking all weld boats there but the smaller one has a hole in it (not a leak). If you are looking at the boat sitting in the water, it is the back left hand corner right at water lever. Tight lines.
