Fished Escondido today. Weather was not the best. Didn't get out of the high 40's, cloudy, damp, off-and-on light drizzle. Wasn't expecting much, in fact, was doubting my decision to even get out. Boy am I glad I'm just a little crazy about fishing. Had a great day on the lake. Hats-off to PWF for finding this one. Once the weather cooperates, this will be a great place to fish. Will definitely be back!

Lots of trees and structure to poke around. While on the back side of the lake at the trees, started with a pumpkin Senko. Had a fish on, then lost it when it threw the hook. Changed to a Chartreuse Spinner Bait, and things quickly got interesting. Second cast was absolutely hammered. Had a 3 -4 pound beauty that got the heart rate up pretty good. As I got it close enough to reach down to grab it, she ran my drag, then snapped the 6 lb test on my ultralite. Not expecting that. Needless to say it took a few minutes ti recover.

Had 11 total in the 2-3 pound range, with only 1 removed. Even though the weather was miserable, had a great day on the water. Cant wait for better weather. This place is going to be awesome to fish.
