Monday the 30th was clear with light wind and just seemed like a crappie catching kinda day. Triple J Lake is in excellent condition and full to the brim. Water color was just right. Got on the water at1 pm and could not stop myself from trying to catch bass. After an hour with no success I tied on a baby crappie crank from Bass Pro and proceeded to boat 17 beautiful fat crappie, biggest was 15 inches. They all came from the Zone…..100 to 150 yards north of the dam in the dead center of the lake. About 4 pm I switched over to a KVD fire tiger crank and cranked in 7 really stout bass from 16 to 19 in. The bass were all in 10 feet or more water and scattered. All in all a great day on the water.
