Saturday was the test to see if ideal weather conditions trump very poor fish conditions as predicted by my iSolunar fishing times app. Member John Bedore and I headed out for an afternoon of fishing at Blackjack with temperatures in the low 70s and light to moderate breezes out of the South. Water temperature was guessed to be iin the high 50s or low 60s but we couldn't be sure as the battery on the depth finder died. We could tell by the first hour that we had our work cut out for us. The fish were just not biting well. We pulled out everything in the box and managed a pretty good day but no large fish and we had to really work to put fish in the boat. Almost all the fish we caught were 12-16 inches. There was no real pattern and the fish were scattered all over the lake. The fish we did catch were very healthy and many held eggs.
Looks like the poor day predicted by iSolunar trumped the ideal conditions on this day,
