Happy New Year PWF members!  Fished  5 hours Thursday afternoon.  My first trip to this property. Similar to previous reports, I caught 12 small fish, 8 – 12 inches.  Caught ‘em on weightless  purple senkos,  red Pit Boss, red rattle trap, blue / black jig with craw trailer.  No fish were caught along the dam or the shallow south end.

I lost a big one on the jig just before quitting time.   I was fishing about 100 yards south of the dock on the west side.   With perfectly calm conditions, a 5 pounder broke me off about 5 yards from the boat.  She jumped once, so I had a decent look at her.  In hindsight, I should have re-tied my jig.  I was using 40 lb. braid with a 17 lb. Fluoro. leader.  Broke off at the lure.   Live and learn.

Saw my first “pack of hogs”.  As I made my way down the west side shoreline in early afternoon, I could hear some rustling of leaves and assumed it may have been the landowner working.  When Mama hog started snorting, the whole pack of 20- 25 took off after they spotted me on the water.  I see now why they are a menace in Texas.

I get down that way on I-35 a lot, so I hope to return soon.

Mike, what did BassForecast say about Thursday's conditions?  I am still trying to upgrade my phone to get the app.
