My brother and I caught 69 Bass in about 8 hours of fishing.  Our 2 biggest were 5 and 6 pounds.  Very few dinks.  Roughly half were 3+.  Very fat and healthy.  Steve, I fished this lake 2x in the past; most recently last year and the fish were not as fat.  PWF is dong a great job managing this lake.  I did not see any feeders out there.  So, is it the harvesting rules?  Equal size and numbers from both lakes and they were so active they were hitting everything.  It's been over a year since my brother Rob and I have fished together.  So when I saw a 9.1 BassForecast rating for 12/28 ten days ago, I decided it was time to go.  We had a great time….We walked the bank half the time and fished from the boats the other half….and enjoyed a couple of fine cigars together at the end of the day. We visited with the owner, James, who is a super nice guy.  He raises the friendliest cows in Texas.  I think they thought we were going to feed them….Hint.  Don't leave anything edible on the bank when you are in the boats because they nose through everything.

Mike

Just curious. Saw the bass app forecast as well. Did you see any differences in catch during the major predicted times?

Mike, how about some specifics on the lures you found to be most effective?

Steve,

Not on that day….They were hitting all day long.  James Caldemeyer (Lake Fork Guide who is participating in catch study with BassForecast) has said he is noticing a strong correlation on tough days.  When I went to the Bassmaster Bass Fest and talked to a lot of the BassPros (Timmy Horton, Rick Clunn, Paul Elias to name a few), I was surprised how inquisitive they were about our method for coming up with peak feeding times.  They all use them more than I thought and told me that they have found the solunar times to be more productive than others….They obviously have a lot more experience than me.  One of them said to me that they just want to be sure to be fishing their A spots during the peak solunar times…and not motoring around or eating lunch.  Good advice.  I am up for anything that improves my odds.  Our solunar times are super accurate because they are location (gps) specific vs what you will see in print, which is just an average for the time zone and will be off by up to 1 hour depending on where you are relative to the mid point of the time zone.
