I was on the water by 1:30ish. The lake is down a decent amount. The cove to the left, opposite the dam gets real shallow real fast.
Right from the jump they were biting and continued throughout the day right up until the sun fell behind the trees then they shut off. I caught two sizes and nothing else. Caught 14 in the 3lb range and 8 super dinks that were no more than 10 inches long. Nothing in the middle. Baffling!
They were hitting tubes, creature baits, rat tails, rat-l-trap and a topwater torpedo at the end of the day. I threw lots of different spinner baits but didn't get a single bite. I love to throw spinnerbaits but I can't remember the last fish I caught on a spinnerbait. Seems these days they want something that moves slow and falls right on their nose or makes enough noise they can't help but attack it, regardless of the lake.
Small john boat has a leak and could use a plate to mount the motor to.
Cheers,
JG
