Four of us fished the AM on Monday 10/10 at the BlackJack Ranch…..it was my first time here, and I had my dad/his wife and my young son with me. Weather was nearly perfect - very sunny, light breeze, temps at around 50F at 7:00AM and warming to 80 by noon. We fished about half the lake from the bank (dockside) and we also got out in the johnboat to fish the rest of it. The four of us totaled about 23 bass, with 6 culled under 15". Average size fish was pretty good - close to 3#, with the two largest both right at 3.30#. Lake is extremely shallow at the opposite side of the dam, and really pretty shallow throughout. A few on topwater, traps and senkos and the biggest came on texas-rigged plastic. The white sticks in the middle of the lake we figured were brush piles and we did pull a nice keeper off of each one throughout the morning.
