I fished the West Lake on Saturday, 10/1, from 7:00 until 5:30.  I had to leave early because i was having trailer light issues, and did not want to be driving at night without proper lighting on the trailer.  The water temp ranged from 74.5 to 84.0 in the afternoon.  Weather was 58 degrees at daybreak, and mid-80's in the afternoon, with some clouds in the morning.  The wind was light and variable.  The West Lake is down about a foot, and the water was murky; i could only see my lure down about a foot or so.  The upper half of the lake is too shallow and choked off with weeds.  Did not fish the East Lake (see my last report), but it looked to be about full.

overall, I boated 21 bass, ranging from 4-03 to about 6 inches long.  The biggest one sucked in my frog without making even a swirl - it just disappeared from the surface.  The 6 inch one took a senko close to the boat, and went flying over the boat when I set the hook.  I caught 5 in the early morning on a black buzzbait (including another 4-00), but then the fishing slowed until around 11:00.  From 11-1, they started hitting a senko (watermelon/white laminate) along the bank between the launch area and the dam.  One interesting thing about this lake - I've always caught fish on a weightless watermelon fluke (dipped tail), but in 2 trips to the lake, I have yet to get a bite on one.  Can't explain this one.

Really enjoyed my day, but I'm still having trailer light problems, so I've got some work to do before my next trip.
