With the break in the heat due to rare August rain, I headed out for Hat and Star Saturday the 20th. I fished from 7-11:30 catching 10 total fish. Light rain and wind were the only negatives. Five were under 16 inches and were harvested. The other 5 averaged 4 lbs each with the top two weighing 7 1/2 and 5 lbs. The big ones bit a crawfish jig and trailer. Others were caught on a watermelon and red Senko and a black/blue flake chatter bait. Overall a great morning on a beautiful lake.
