08/12 - Fished Jer Mar Property this afternoon with my Daughter (new Fishing Buddy) Despite Rain and Wind - we were able to Land 6 really nice Bass between the 2 of us. Grass was dense and it made for tough fishing. Caught our fish up at the North west end. not a horrible time on the lake - Just wish I would have know how thick the grass was throughout the pond

Kenneth,

Aquatic vegetation reaches its peak in August and September and as the water cools it becomes less and less. I understand how challenging it can be. Weston SW Lake and Leonard Black Hat are two lakes around DFW that have little to no aquatic vegetation and might be a good fit next time you go.

Thank you Steve - To be honest, I am still trying to learn as much as I can about this type of fishing and helpful tips are greatly appreciated - the 6 bass we did catch hit hard and were very healthy - Missed at least 6 others and had one break my line and take my Wacky Worm with him. I will try Jer Mar again in the Spring..

Hey Kenneth. I fish JerMar quite a bit and with certain baits, it can be rough (especially if its windy). Weedless top water baits like frogs do well there along with darker texas-rigged lizards and Brush Hogs. I also catch quite a few on neutral-colored spinner baits around the edges of the weed beds. If you ever want to get together out there, I would be glad to share what I have learned about this lake.
