Fingerling
Ron and I hit Blackjack Ranch on Wednesday morning, August 10. We fished from 6:30 to about 2 pm, when the heat got dangerous for boomers like us. The bite was still really good for early August. We caught about 30 total from dink to 5 pounds. I caught mine on crankbaits and TX-rigged plastics, Ron most of his on swimbaits and spinners. The morning topwater bite wasn't there, but most bass were taken in shallow water where they were blasting baitfish and frogs. At about 1 pm, they seemed to move deeper, but the shark-like beach attacks were still going on in places even as we drove away in the 100+ deg heat.
The shower and cold beer afterward topped of a great day off to fish!!
Tight lines!
