Fingerling
I was on the water by 6:40am. By 7:20 my shirt was completely soaked through and I'm not exaggerating. There was zero breeze! Sweat was pouring into my eyes between every cast. It was the first time in 46 years I said to myself "I hate Texas" even though I really love it. I couldn't take the heat so I switched shores to duck behind the trees for some shade. I caught a couple on a tube bait from Barlows. Eventually the fishing slowed down and the sun was high so there was no hiding from it. I was headed in but I changed my mind and decided to try along the damn. Good thing I did because I picked up a couple of nice 3 pounders on a Smoked Shad 5' Tiki Stick from Wave Fishing that put on a good jumping show. Sure wish we had that coupon code like we used to.
Anyway, I rarely get a Saturday off so it was great to be able to fish. Steve, I know fish have to eat in this summer heat but air conditioning is really nice. I'll see ya in October for another trip!

Summer time fishing is awesome. But, the conditions can be tough.
