Finally made a trip to Hat and Star and I have to say my first time for fishing in this much timber since Teledo Bend in the 70's .  On the water at 6:30 and first fish on top water at 6:33.  Topwater bite was still fairly active till about 8 when the wind picked so since had several under the slot in the ice chest decided to explore a little.  Continued picking up scattered fish from variety of water and ended the morning with 13 under the slot removed and 7 over returned.  Probably lost 6-7 more due to wrapping around stump.
