Hey all - I’m a new member, this is my first post.
My 11 y/o son and I fished PM on 6/30 and AM on 7/1 at Rock Chimney lake. Opted to try tent camping too - 95 degrees - that was fun.
Fished the boat ramp side in the PM, mostly the half closest to the dam. My son caught a 2.5# on a road runner with an ultralight. In the AM we did much better, particularly on the other side….a couple more nice keepers in the 2-3# range. A dozen dinks - almost everything on rattle traps. Threw senkos, texas rigged worms, spinner boats, etc.; didn’t get much on anything else.
Water was still up from the rains but close to normal. Very stained. Maybe 30 fish total for both days.
Met the land owner who advised that there was a fish kill not too long ago and they had to re-stock. Didn’t catch the date on that. Tough conditions due to the heat but still productive and fun.

Steve,
Thanks for making your first post!
The fish kill was summer of 2013. 2014 was a tough year, the lake rebounded nicely in 2015 and fishing good again this year.
