Slot Fish
I took my golfing/fishing buddy Darryl to Northeast Lake on Friday the 24th. We started fishing at 6:15 and finished at noon. The water temp was 87.5 at launch, and we saw temps as high as 92.3 before leaving. The water was stained, and surprisingly was still draining through the overflow near the dam. The weeds are dense all the way around the lake, and make it smaller than it is listed (12 acres). We missed the turn-in when we arrived because we came in from the north and didn't see the white carport until it was too late. The launch area is very tight, but i was able to easily launch and retrieve my 18'8" ranger aluminum, but you would have trouble with anything larger.
The fishing was pretty good. We caught 17 and missed that many more. I had several blowups on frogs, but i think they were small because i didn't hook any of them. We never could get a pattern going. We caught fish on spinnerbaits, buzzbaits, chugbug, whopper plopper, senko, fluke, and a squarebill (but only a couple on each lure). Our largest was caught by my buddy; it weighed 4-02 and hit a buzzbait. Almost every fish we caught was between 2-3 pounds and a good fighter.
Another beautiful lake, and perfect for a morning of fishing. FYI, we went to Lake Fork for the afternoon and caught 2; 1 small largemouth and 1 big sand bass.

Perfect example of fishing private vs. public.
