Billy Morton
Fingerling
My son and I fished Gilmer this morning from 6a - 12p. We caught somewhere around 25 - 30 fish. With only 4 of those over the slot. The rest were dinks and harvested. I managed to boat a nice 23” bass that went for 7 lbs (cheap scale, that I believe I need to verify). It was a very fat healthy bass caught on top water at about 8a.
We caught them on jigs, cranks, wacky rigs, plastics, top water, shallow water, deep, stumps, grass, and all side of the lake.
Water was stained (Texas Tea) with clarity around 8 - 10”.
It was 73 degrees when we got on the water and 90 when we left at noon.
This lake is FULL of dinks and is in severe need for them to be removed. We watched them all day chase bait fish all around the lake.
All in all another great day on a club lake.
