I Arrived at the lake at 7 and fished for 4 hours. There were low clouds throughout the morning with a stiff southern breeze. I brought a kayak but ended up never using it. Instead, I walked the north shoreline and tossed a spinnerbait. The bass where at times schooling and driving the bait fish to the bank. Threw that for most of the morning, and finished the day throwing a swimbait around the spillway. Most of the fish hit in less than 3 feet of water and were quite feisty. I didn't keep track of what I landed, but it probably was around 30 to 40. Many of those being really solid Post Oak chunks that gave the drag on my light spinning gear a workout. I was a little surprised to see virtually no visible vegetation, other than what was sparsely right on the shoreline, which actually proved to be helpful when using an crappie set up. I'll be back later this spring.
