Grandson and I fished Six-0 last  week before the weather turned bad. We had sunny skies and moderate wind. The lake is as full as I have ever seen it, running far back into the creeks. Water temp.were around 50-54 degrees and very clear.  Fished until around 3pm, Grandson caught a couple of the coppernose perch under the dock on bread and the was the sum total of the fish. Found a few on the fish finder, but ni bites.  Talked to Ted , the property owner a couple of times and he said that the fishing has been real slow lately. He has been clearing a lot of the cedar trees out around the lake.

I have always find it tough in colder water, once it drops below 60.  Then I go slow and deep with lipless crank baits in silver.  But you know when you are throwing a mass of treble hooks in Six O you are asking for trouble with the trees. I saw all those piles of cedar he is removing.  John come April with all that water should make for some great worm fishing.

Six-O is a favorite of mine, but it can be a tough bite at times. I know the fish still have to eat when it's cold out, but they sure do slow down their activity.
