As I left town and headed for Canton and a lake I have fish with great success in the past, the sky was dark with ominous looking grey clouds, but there, in the distance, was a ray of sun shine. When I got to the lake all the signs were in my favor: clearing sky with a few clouds, a gentle west wind ( wind from the west ...fishing the best), even the cows were up and on the move…... As Zach Brown would say "This was going to be a great day!" Speaking of cows, they were gathered at the gate in mass but don't prove to be to troublesome. Hit the water and worked a chatter bait from shore to @ 7ft. of water….nothing. Switched to a crank in 7- 10 ft. nothing. Went back and worked plastics… nothing. Headed to deeper water with lipless cranks….nothing. As Woody Allen would say "How could I have missed the signs?" How do you miss read everything? Fish were everywhere according to my graph but GEEZ! Oh well, did finally put a doz. in the boat with 3 being pretty nice, but a lot of work for what I produced on a day that falsely screamed "fishing the best".

Yep, that's why they call it fishing, not catching… Still, a dozen fish this time of year is nothing to sneeze at! Thanks for the report!
