Three of us fished Dogwood West yesterday and could see the "potential" of this lake. As stated; the lake is in a beautiful part of our great state, the tools of a managed property are all around and I'm sure there are great fish here….. However: the feeders are not in use and that could be the time of the year (I'll readily admit to a severe lack of knowledge on their use) and the lake appears to be @ 5ft. below pool which, added to the restricted area at the end of the lake, left a much more contracted fishing spot. With a larger pool the beauty would be enhanced and some nice fishing area made accessible. OH, and hit the # key before you enter the gate code. Now if this sounds a little negative, as stated, I'm sure there are great fish in this lake….. but I have no empirical knowledge to back that statement. Could be the time of year, or moon phase or many other factors but when three people fish hard with not just a little success, but nothing…. one fish and nothing else, no nibbles, no "feel goods", negative thoughts pop into your head. Yes, we're not TV fishermen, but nothing????? A don't know if I should be ashamed or just disappointed.
