Fingerling
Hit the lake @ daybreak, wind was steady but not too strong. No topwater bite. My third fish of the morning
was a nice 6 #er, had to shut trolling motor to keep her out of it, & almost got grounded by the wind! It had
snuck up on me & was blowing 15 MPH! But being hard-headed, I decided to make one more cast before
heading to the ramp. I immediately caught another 5#er and once again got blown into the corner by the dock!
I barely got out using full power on my T-motor, finally came to my senses & made a beeline for the ramp.
By now, the wind was blowing almost 20 MPH straight into the spillway & I hit it straight on with my bow,
then jumped out and dragged my boat another two to three feet onto the concrete. It took all I had to keep
the stern pointed into the wind instead of turning sideways into the shore! All this happend about 10:00 & it
took almost an hour to get my boat onto the trailer & out of the water! Guess the fish liked the wind tho, so
I spent the next hour catching four more bass for a total of 8 from 2 to 6 pounds. All were caught on a red
rattletrap,a red&green chatterbait and purple magnum lizard. I'm sick of this wind!
Tight lines to all! Joel C.
