:Fished Deer Trail this afternoon. Got there a little late,  had a sandwich on the shore and took in the relaxed scene. Gentle breeze, lots of pads, beautiful lake and cares behind us.Then my buddy and I hit the water and to show how pig headed we could be; ignored the fishing reports and worked  frogs, spinners, and plastics until my buddy started throwing a rattle trap….bang!, then another…no fool I, went to a rattle trap and we caught fish just like the fishing reports. Amazingly we caught almost nothing on anything else. Lots of fish all in the 2 to 3+ range and what fun, they really are fighters. Time to go and my buddy says "I got to try one other bait and pattern". A few casts and nothing but grass…"lets go, last cast!" Five cast later 3  under 9 but well over 6…... then nothing, but thank you Lord and those three fish…what a perfect ending to a great day!
