Fished with member Jay Reese on Sunday, October 4th. Weather was sunny, warming from upper 50’s to 80. Water temperature was 72 to 74 with water clarity of 3 to 4 feet. We got on the water late at 8:30 and fished until 5:00. I located shad in the middle of the big creek in the morning and had good action for a short period of time on square bill and medium cranks and a couple on a Zara Spook – they didn’t like the popper, buzzbait, wakebait or HB Frog. Caught around 13 with largest being 20 inches, a couple were dinks, the others were 16 to 18 inches and fought hard and we’re hungry. Frequently a second fish was trailing the hooked fish, twice I had two fish on a square bill, I did manage to pull in a set of twins into the boat. Worked around the lake and other creek trying, Yum Dinger, Pit Boss , spinnerbait and deep diving crank ending the day with around 20. I’ve heard there are some big bass in this lake but we couldn’t find them. Fun day to be on the water and try out a new (for me) PWF lake. I’ll let Jay recap his day since we fished in separate boats.

I had kinda of an off day caught few fish in main part of lake on a fluke. Found a pretty steep drop off in main lake from the creek channel in the main part of the lake from the bank where lodge sits goes from about 7 ft to about 20 ft. Finally figured out what they wanted in this spot started catching fish on a jig with craw trailer after no bites earlier between 2 and 3 lbs. Like Chris reported no big fish I saw some pretty big blow ups on creek channel edge but couldn’t get a big bite.
