Slot Fish
Fished Saturday the 19th from 7:30 to 2:00 on a mostly overcast day. Water temperature was 78 with visibly of 2 to 3 feet. Had no problem paddling my bass buster thru lily pads. Caught a couple and missed a couple on hollow body frog in the pads- it was fun watching them explode. I probably missed 30 minutes of quality frog time on the lily pads. None on Yellow Magic topwater or wakebait. Followed the advice of the previous two posts and fished lipless cranks (Greem Tomato and Firetiger) from 10 feet of water throwing to edge of lily pads – most caught halfway back to boat. Also tried bladed jog and fluke but lipless was the bait of choice for these fish. Caught 30 to 4 lbs by 11:00. Front moved in and started to sprinkle. Got out the buzzbait but only caught one. Finished with 40, 10 of which we’re dinks the others in 2 to 3 lb range but they all fought hard. Good to be back on the water
