I have fished JerMar 3 times in the last few months and you can definitely see the weeds creeping in. The first time I fished it, you could make it through the initial weed line and fish pockets with pretty much anything. Now you are relegated to the outside or weedless top-water baits. With that said, this lake still holds a ton of catchable fish.
I went with a buddy of mine that has not bass fished before and we fished from daylight to noon. There was some top water action early but it only lasted a few minutes. We landed a 2.2 and a smaller fish. All of the rest of the fish were caught on either blue or watermelon red texas-rigged senkos.
There were no fish on spinners, lizards or rattle traps. The weather was slightly overcast with a small breeze so it was a perfect day. In all we finished with about 15 fish with the largest being that 2.2 pounder.
FYI- the seats are about to come off the brackets attached to the john boat. Each one needs 3 bolts and nuts. If I had known, I would have brought some and fixed them myself.
Tight lines.

Fixed seats in jon boat with Martin Alonzo's help this past week end. Also the north pond, Upper JerMar, now has a feeder and a boat available by the track and the feeder. Be careful there as dead grass is slippery and may have to retrieve paddles from the big lake if needed. Also don't walk on the track to that feeder as we are going to put on a rail to prevent someone accidently falling in, is shaky now. There are some nice fish in the Upper Pond but water level is down due to no rain. Thanks for feedback. Also am in process with getting triploid grass card for grass control in the lakes. Grass and milfil is thick now as water levels are down several feet. Jerry King
